Description

Permanent Airtight Bonding

Würth Wutop Film Adhesive is a high-performance acrylic copolymer adhesive developed for the permanent bonding of vapour retarders, vapour barriers, and sealing films directly to construction surfaces. It eliminates the need for clamping battens while ensuring long-term airtightness in line with German Building Energy Act requirements.

Tested and Approved System Performance

In combination with Würth vapour retarders/barriers, the adhesive has been tested by the Institute for Building Physics in Stuttgart and approved for airtightness of up to 600 Pa pressure difference, ensuring compliance with stringent building energy and air-sealing regulations.

Flexible and Reliable

Once cured, Wutop Film Adhesive remains permanently elastic, absorbing building movements without loss of adhesion. Its excellent moistening properties guarantee secure bonding even on uneven or slightly rough surface. Detached bonds can be rejoined thanks to its self-adhesive film properties.

All-Weather Usability

This adhesive can be applied at surface temperatures down to -5°C (with adhesive temperature >=10°C), making it suitable for cold-weather installations. It is resistant to UV radiation, frost (-30°C), ageing, weather, and bitumen exposure, ensuring durability in demanding environments.

Safe and User-Friendly

The adhesive is odourless, solvent-free, silicone-free, and free from harmful substances such as formaldegyde and chlorine. Once hardened, it is physiologically safe, making it suitable for indoor use.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and grease-free.
  2. Apply adhesive in 4-8mm beads onto the film or connection area.
  3. Position the film without tension, leaving a discharge loop for strain relief.
  4. Lightly press into place - do not flatten the bead completely (minimum adhesive thickness >= 1mm).
  5. Depending on substrate dampness, bonding may require 16-20 hours of drying time.
  6. For non-absorbent surfaces, use the contact bonding method.

Usage Notes

  • For applications below 15°C, use with Würth Professional Glue Gun.
  • Avoid constant exposure to moisture (e.g. swimming pools, permanently wet environments).
  • Detached bonds can be resealed due to the adhesive's self-adhesive properties.
  • Store in a dry, cool environment (15-25 °C).
