Würth Vaku 40 Filler is a professional-grade polyester putty developed for multi-material use across automotive, metal, and woodworking sectors. By reducing the specific weight by 30%, the filler becomes more user-friendly, easier to spread, and faster to process, while maintaining its strength and durability.
Versatile Applications
- Automotive and Cargo: For repairs in vehicle construction and maintenance, ideal for deep scratches, uneven surfaces, and as a base layer before fine filler application.
- Metalwork: Provides reliable filling in prototype construction, for blowhole compensation, welding spot correction, and surface levelling.
- Woodworking: Functions as a durable pair putty for wood restoration, window and door repairs, and prototype building. Suitable for all wood types except oily varieties.
Superior Processing Properties
The filler’s smooth consistency makes it easy to apply, with high build and strong adhesion to multiple substrates including iron, steel, zinc-plated and hot-dip zinc-plated metals, aluminium, GFRP, and wood. Once cured, the filler is extremely easy to sand, producing little dust and leaving a fine, uniform surface ready for overcoating.
Fast and Reliable Curing
With a working life of 4–5 minutes at 20°C, the mixed filler provides sufficient processing time for precision application. It cures rapidly, achieving sanding readiness within 20–30 minutes. The hardened material is heat resistant up to 80°C, ensuring long-term stability in service.
Environmentally Compliant
Würth Vaku 40 is fully VOC-compliant, meeting the requirements of the German Ordinance on Solvent-Based Paints and Lacquers (ChemVOCFarbV). It contains 0 g/l VOC, well below the permissible maximum of 250 g/l for product category 2(b).

Application Instructions
- Ensure substrate is clean, dry, and grease-free.
- Roughly sand surface to improve adhesion.
- Avoid wet sanding polyester material before it is fully cured due to water sensitivity.
- Add 2% hardener to filler and mix thoroughly until colour is uniform.
- Do not exceed recommended mixing ratios.
- Pot life: 4-5 minutes at 20°C.
- Apply with the supplied plastic spatula in thin or thick layers as required.
- Build up layers for deeper imperfections.
- Drying time: 20-30 minutes at 20°C.
- Once cured, sand with P80-P280 sandpaper. Wet sanding is only recommended once filler is completely dry.
Usage Notes
- Do not apply below 10°C.
- Ensure correct filler-to-hardener ratio to prevent curing failures.
- Store in original contatiner in a cool, dry environment away from frost, heat, and sunlight.
