Würth Vaku 20 Filler is a polyester resin-based fine filer designed for pore sealing, repairing scratches, and creating smooth, closed surfaces. Its elasticity and fine particle formulation provide a flawless repair base, ensuring excellent adhesion for subsequent coatings.

Smooth and Clean Processing

This filler is engineered to minimise dust build-up during sanding, resulting in a cleaner working environment and reducing rework. It sands easily, saving time and effort during surface preparation.

Brilliant White Pigmentation for Superior Top-Coats

The brilliant white formulation ensures optimum surface preparation for top-coat paint. This makes it particularly effective in model building, furniture production, and high-visibility applications, where an even base colour is critical.

Versatile Application Across Materials

  • Automotive and Cargo: Eliminates paint defects, scratches, and closes pores in filler layers during vehicle repair.
  • Metal: Provides extremely fine surface finishing for a smooth, flawless top-coat result.
  • Wood: Functions as a fine or universal filler for most woods (not suitable for oily or heavily weathered wood).

Fast Drying for Time-Saving Repairs

With a working life of 4–5 minutes at 20 °C and a drying time of 20–30 minutes, Vaku 20 enables rapid repairs without compromising quality. Once cured, the surface is ready for sanding, filling, or applying top coats.

System Compatibility and Coating Advice

  • For best results, strip repaired spots with universal primer (1- or 2-component), HS filler, or Rust Stop Quattro before applying final top coats. This prevents gloss reduction and visible repair edges.
  • Compatible with other Vaku fillers (30, 40, 70) as part of a complete repair system.
  • Compliant with ChemVOC FarbV regulations, with a maximum VOC concentration of just 2 g/l.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and grease-free.
  2. Sand the repair area to create a key. (Sand polyester filler dry where possible due to water sensitivity).
  3. Mix thoroughly with 2% hardener.
  4. Apply thin, even layers using a spatula.
  5. At 20°C observe the following: working life: 4-5 minutes, drying time: 20-30 minutes.
  6. Sand with P80-P280 sandpaper. Wet sanding only once the material is completely dry.
  7. Before final top-coating, strip the repaired spot with a suitable primer or filler to prevent gloss issues.

Usage Notes

  • Not suitable for oily or heavily weathered woods.
  • Polyester fillers will not harden below 10°C.
  • Always ensure the correct filler-to-hardener ratio to avoid curing problems.
