Würth Timbafill Wood Filler is a high-performance, two-part, styrene-free polyester repair system designed to deliver a strong and long-lasting solution for repairing imperfections, cracks, knots, and damaged areas in timber. Supplied in trade-sized packs with a separate hardener, it provides a robust and reliable repair that meets the demands of both joiners and decorators.

Versatile and Durable

Once cured, Timbafill offers a durable, weatherproof repair suitable for both interior and exterior applications. It is paintable, stainable, and compatible with all known paint and varnish systems, making it ideal for use in finishing work where a high-quality aesthetic is required. The non-slump formula ensures stability during application, even on vertical surfaces and corners, reducing rework.

Easy to Work With

The filler has excellent workability and is designed to be mixed easily with the supplied hardener. It can be applied directly into the repair area with a putty knife or spatula and shaped to match the surrounding surface. Once cured, it sands down smoothly, ensuring a seamless, professional finish.

Fast Curing and Reliable

With a processing and curing time of just 30 minutes, repairs can be completed quickly, allowing for efficient workflow. Its Shore D hardness rating of 70 ± 5 ensures a tough, impact-resistant repair that withstands further finishing and long-term use.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, or dust.
  2. Remove rotten or weak areas of timber, cutting back to sound wood. Lightly abrade smooth surfaces to provide a key.
  3. On a clean mixing board, add hardener to base filler in the proportion of 10 parts base to 1 part hardener.
  4. Mix thoroughly with a spatula or stiff knife until an even colour is achieved.
  5. Scape the board at least once during mixing to avoid uncured material.
  6. Only mix small amounts that can be applied within 5 minutes.
  7. Apply the mixed filler directly to the repair area using a putty knife or spatula.
  8. Shape as required, leaving a slight excess proud of the surface for sanding.
  9. For deep repairs, build up in multiple thin layers if needed.
  10. Allow to cure fully before sanding.
  11. Sand the entire repair surface to ensure even absorption of stains or finishes.

Usage Notes

  • Curing time: 30 minutes at standard conditions.
  • Processing temperature range: 15°C to 25°C.
  • For highly absorbent timbers, the filler may appear more noticeable; conduct a test on an inconspicuous area before full-scale use.
  • Plastic shuttering can be used for straight edges but must be removed after curing.
