Description
Advanced Water-Based Protection
Würth Stone Chip Protection Aqua is a high-performance, water-based coating developed for repairing and restoring vehicle surfaces exposed to stone chips and corrosion. Its optimised formulation provides strong protection while being more climate-friendly than solvent-based alternatives.
Flexible Application for Professional Finishes
The coating can be sprayed to achieve either fine or coarse structures, depending on air pressure and nozzle settings. A thin initial coat ensures proper adhesion, with additional layers applied as required to match OEM texture. Once fully dried, the surface can be easily sanded, making refinishing straightforward and efficient.
Durability and Acoustic Benefits
The cured film offers excellent abrasion resistance, ensuring long-lasting protection against impacts and environmental damage. In addition, the coating provides an anti-humming effect, dampening vibrations and reducing road noise.
Paint Compatibility and Refinishing
Stone Chip Protection Aqua is compatible with all paint systems, including water-based and 2-component acrylic paints. It can be painted over after approximately two hours, depending on coat thickness and drying conditions. For best results with 2-component acrylic paints, a primer is recommended.
Processing Advantages
This coating is suitable for oven drying and can also be cured with infrared drying. However, care must be taken not to exceed 60 °C, as overheating can cause blistering. The product is water-thinnable (max. 2 %) and can be mixed with water-based paints up to 30 % for customised application.

Application Instructions
- Shake can well before use.
- Ensure the base surface is dry, clean, and free of rust, dirt, grease, and old coatings.
- Hold spray gun at an optimal distance of 20-30cm.
- Apply a very thin first coat for adhesion and allow to flash off for approx. 3 minutes.
- Apply further coats to the required thickness, allowing each coar to flash off.
- Adjust compressed air and nozzle supply to achieved desired fine or coarse texture.
- Product can be painted over with water-based paints after approx. 2 hours (depending on thickness and conditions).
- For 2-component acrylic paints, use a primer first for best reults.
- Clean spray gun thoroughly with water after every use.
- After use, turn the can upside down and spray until the nozzle is empty.
Usage Notes
- Drying possible down to -10°C.
- For IR drying, ensure the film is not heated above 60°C.
- Store only in closed original packaging between 5°C and 25°C in dry conditions.
- Do not spray on joints, engines, gears, or brake systems.
