Description

Reliable Sealing in Roof Applications

Würth Seal Flex Sealant is a synthetic rubber-based sealant developed for use in sloped and flat roof areas. With its excellent adhesion to bitumen strips, concrete, wood, metal, glass, and many plastics, it provides a robust and flexible sealing solution for heavily loaded joints and exposed environments.

Durability and Weather Resistance

The formulation is UV-resistant, permanently elastic and resistant to ageing and weathering, ensuring long-term performance in harsh outdoor conditions. Its ability to bond to damp surfaces makes it a dependable choice for on-site work where weather cannot always be controlled.

Tested and Proven Performance

The sealant has been tested for UV stability and compatibility with polycarbonate glass by the German Fraunhofer Institute, confirming its suitability in demanding building and roofing applications.

Versatile and Easy to Apply

Suitable for emergency repairs as well as planned installations, Seal Flex provides a quick and reliable seal even in difficult conditions. The product is paintable, allowing integration into building finishes, and once cured, it becomes odourless for added user comfort.

More Information

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure contact surfaces are clean, firm, and free of loose debris.
  2. Store cartridge at room temperature before application for best results.
  3. Backfill joints with polyethylene cords in accordance with DIN 18540 to prevent three-edge adhesion.
  4. Porous surfaces should be dry; smooth surfaces may be slightly damp.
  5. Apply sealant evenly into the joint.
  6. If masking tape is used for clean edges, remove it immediately after grouting or smoothing.
  7. Allow to cure fully before subjecting joints to heavy loads or prolonged water exposure.

Usage Notes

  • Adhesion may be reduced in standing water applications.
  • Not suitable for sealing glass or for use with pre-compressed sealing tapes.
  • Not intended for adhesive bonding or cavity filling.
  • Always test compatibility before use on alkyd resin paints, powder-coated aluminium, or sensitive coatings.
  • Transparent variant may appear milky when wet, but dries back to clear.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation during curing; curing time increases with greater layer thickness.
