Description
All-in-One Primer Solution
Würth Rust Stop Quattro Primer is a multi-functional, polyvinyl butyral-based coating engineered to serve as primer, adhesion promoter, corrosion inhibitor, and welding primer in a single product. Its unique anti-oxidation formula actively prevents rust while creating a stable, paintable surface for further finishing.
Superior Adhesion
The product establishes an optimal surface structure that ensures reliable adhesion for subsequent coatings. It is fully compatible with PU and MS polymer sealing compounds, making it highly versatile in automotive, construction, and industrial maintenance applications.
Long-Term Corrosion Protection
Quattro Primer delivers outstanding resistance to oxidation, spray water, and salt water exposure, ensuring durable performance in even the toughest conditions. It is particularly well-suited to equipment, vehicles, and machinery exposed to harsh outdoor or coastal environments.
Welding Compatibility
Unlike conventional primers, Rust Stop Quattro can function as a welding substrate, allowing full penetration welding both wet and dry. This feature increases efficiency during fabrication and repair work, eliminating the need to strip primer in welded areas.
Heat and Environmental Performance
With a temperature resistance up to 300°C (and short-term peaks of 500°C), the coating remains stable under thermal stress, making it suitable for parts exposed to engine, exhaust, or industrial heat sources. Additionally, its lower solvent content and VOC compliance meet the requirements of Directive 1999/13/EC, reducing environmental impact.
Wide Application Scope
The product is widely used in industries such as vehicle and trailer construction, transport and logistics, commercial vehicle repair, agriculture, forestry, building, and municipal maintenance.
More Information
Application Instructions
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from grease or dust.
- Lightly sand problematic or glossy surfaces to improve adhesion.
- Shake the can thoroughly before use.
- Apply a thin first coat, observing the necessary flash-off time.
- Apply additional coats as needed to achieve desired coverage.
- Allow approx. 20 minutes drying time before overcoating with 1K, 2K, or water-based topcoat systems.
Usage Notes
- Processing temperature: 5°C to 40°C.
- After use, invert the can and spray until the valve is empty to prevent clogging.
- Apply in a well-ventilated environment.
