Description

High-Performance Plastic Adhesive

Würth Replast ME 2C Plastic Adhesive 90 Sec is a two-component polyurethane adhesive developed for the repair and bonding of plastic parts. With a working life of 90 seconds, it is engineered for applications requiring rapid handling and fast curing.

Versatility in Use

The adhesive is suitable for a broad range of plastic repair applications, including spoilers, radiator grilles, trim clips, bumper components, brackets, aprons, and wheel arches. Its certification to NSF P1 allows use in the food industry, while the EC1+ emission classification ensures it meets strict environmental and health and safety requirements.

Efficient Mixer Technology

The specially developed short positive mixer nozzle ensures thorough mixing of the two components, even in small volumes, while minimising material wastage. This provides consistent performance with every application.

Durability and Resistance

Once cured, the adhesive forms a strong and rigid bond with a combined tension and shear resistance of 20 MPa. The cured material is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including fuels and lubricants, and retains performance across a temperature range of -40°C to 100°C.

Fast Refinishing

The repair compound reaches sanding condition withing 10 minutes at 23°C, enabling rapid progression from bonding to finishing. This makes it particularly suited to time-sensitive repair work.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure the substrate is capable of bearing loads and is clean, dry, and free from grease, rust, and old adhesive residues.
  2. Clean the surface with a suitable plastic cleaner and apply plastic primer if required, observing the correct flash-off rime.
  3. Before attaching the mixer nozzle, extrude and discard a small quantity of adhesive.
  4. After fitting the mixer, extrude adhesive and discard the first 2cm from the nozzle to ensure proper mixing.
  5. During application, keep the mixer nozzle within the adhesive bead to minimise the risk of air bubbles forming.
  6. Apply at a processing temperature between 15°C and 25°C.
  7. Working life is 90 seconds under standard conditions (23°C / 50% RH).
  8. The adhesive can be sanded after approximately 10 minutes at 23°C.
  9. Full curing occurs at a rate of approx. 0.5 mm/min under standard conditions.

Usage Notes:

  • Not suitable for PE (polyethylene), PP (polypropylene), or PFTE (polytetrafluoroethylene).
  • Adhesion may be affected by release agents or coatings present on some plastics. Check compatibility on an inconspicuous area before use.
  • Store in original packaging at 23°C, away from direct sunlight.
  • Shelf life: 24 months from production when correctly stored.
