Description

Extended Open Time for Complex Repairs

Würth Replast ME 2C Plastic Adhesive 210 Sec is a two-component polyurethane adhesive specifically developed for situations where additional working time is required. With a 210-second working life, this adhesive provides ample time for careful positioning and adjustment of components before curing begins.

Versatile Repair Applications

Suitable for a wide range of plastics, this adhesive is commonly used in the repair of bumpers, aprons, wheel arches, radiator grilles, headlight brackets, spoilers, and trim clips. Its NSF P1 certification allows safe use in the food industry, while the EMICODE EC1+ classification guarantees compliance with stringent emission and environmental standards.

Optimised Mixing System

The specially designed short positive mixer nozzle delivers accurate mixing of adhesive components while minimising material wastage, ensuring consistent quality even when only small quantities are dispensed.

Durability and Resistance

Once cured, Replast ME 210 Sec achieves a combined tension and shear resistance of 20 MPa and a Shore D hardness of 70 ± 5. It maintains stability across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +100°C and provides resistance to fuels, lubricants, and a variety of solvents.

Professional-Grade Finishing

Although the adhesive requires a longer curing period compared to faster-setting versions, it can be sanded after 30 minutes at 23°C, making it well-suited for jobs requiring precise alignment before finishing.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure the substrate is load-bearing, clean, dry, and free from grease, rust, and old adhesive residues.
  2. Clean with an appropriate plastic cleaner and, if necessary, apply plastic primer, observing the specified flash-off time.
  3. Extrude and discard a small amount of adhesive before attaching the mixer nozzle.
  4. Once the nozzle is attached, dispense adhesive and discard the first 2 cm to guarantee proper mixing.
  5. During application, keep the nozzle within the adhesive bead to minimise the formation of air bubbles.
  6. Apply within a processing temperature range of 15°C to 25°C.
  7. Working life is 210 seconds under standard conditions (23°C / 50% relative humidity).
  8. The adhesive can be sanded after 30 minutes at 23°C.
  9. Curing progresses at a rate of approximately 0.5mm/min at 23°C / 50% RH.

Notes:

  • Not suitable for PE, PP, or PTFE.
  • Some plastics may contain coatings or release agents which can impair adhesion. Test compatibility on a hidden area before use.
  • Store at 23°C, away from direct sunlight.
  • Shelf life: 24 months from production when stored correctly.
