Description

High-Strength Polyurethane Adhesive

Würth PUR Adhesive is a professional-grade polyurethane adhesive designed for structural bonding across a wide range of applications. With its EN 204 D4 classification, it delivers superior strength and water resistance, making it suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor woodworking tasks.

Structural Bonding Applications

Engineered for reliability, this adhesive is perfect for the manufacture and assembly of windows, doors, staircases, handrails, railings, and terrace elements. It provides excellent results in furniture construction, both for interior fittings and external structures such as garden and bathroom furniture.

Multi-Material Compatibility

Beyond wood-to-wood applications, Würth PUR Adhesive bonds effectively to a variety of substrates, including MDF, mineral building boards, ceramics, plastics, metals, and insulation boards. This versatility makes it a go-to solution for complex joinery and construction projects.

Moisture-Cured with Swelling Effect

The adhesive cures by absorbing moisture from the air and substrates, ensuring strong performance even on timber with elevated moisture content. During curing, the adhesive exhibits a swelling effect, which enhances joint filling but requires precise application to avoid over-expansion.

Durable and Weather-Resistant

Once cured, the adhesive achieves a temperature resistance of -30°C to 100°C, making it highly durable in varying climates. The joint, however, should be protected from UV exposure to prevent long-term degredation.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and degreased.
  2. Remove any anti-adhesive layers from plastics before bonding.
  3. Wood moisture content should be between 0-12%.
  4. Apply adhesive directly from the bottle or spread with a putty knife to create a thin, uniform later.
  5. Application rate: up to 200 g/m^2.
  6. Adhesive joint should not exceed 0.5mm width - larger joints reduce bond strength.
  7. Assemble parts immediately after adhesive application.
  8. Apply a minimum pressing pressure of 0.01bar until the adhesive sets.
  9. Open time depends on conditions: approximately 20°C / 65% RH provides optimal curing.
  10. Adhesive cures through moisture; avoid sealing off joints completely from air until cured.
  11. Fresh residues can be removed using PU Cleaner.
  12. Once cured, only mechanical removal is possible.

Safety and Usage Notes

  • Protect adhesive joints from UV exposure.
  • Always wear protective gloves and goggles to avoid skin/eye contact.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation during use.
  • Store in a cool, dry place; shelf life is 6 months from production.
  • Do not apply below 5°C or above 40°C.
