Description
High-Performance Hybrid Technology
Würth MS Hybrid Sealant is a universal, permanently elastic sealant based on MS polymer technology. Free of isocyanates, solvents, and silicone, it combined the flexibility of silicone with the strength and paintability of traditional construction sealants.
Durable and Versatile
Engineered for long-lasting performance, the sealant remains elastic throughout its service life while maintaining high mechanical strength and elasticity. It adheres strongly to numerous building materials - including wood, stone, concrete, metal, plaster, glass, ceramics, hard plastics, and even damp substrates - making it suitable for construction, automotive, shipbuilding, and general industrial use.
Paintable and Weather-Resistant
Unlike many sealants, MS Hybrid Sealant can be painted over with water-based paints and varnishes once skin formation has occurred, allowing seamless integration into decorative finishes. Coloured sealants are UV- and weather-resistant, mould-resistant, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Safe and Reliable Use
The nearly odourless formulation is not corrosive to metals and prevents bubble formation during curing. Its ability to absorb mechanical and acoustic vibrations makes it particularly effective in dynamic environments, while its resistance to salt water ensures suitability for marine and coastal applications.
More Information
Application Instructions
- Prepare the joint surface by ensuring it is clean, load-bearing, and free of dust, oil, and loose debris.
- Apply sealant using a standard cartridge, cutting the nozzle to the required bead size.
- Fill the joint evenly, avoiding air entrapment.
- Smoother the sealant immediately, before skin formation (approx. 10 minutes at 23°C, 50% RH).
- Allow to cure fully before subjecting the joint to stress or mechanical load.
Joint Dimensions
- Minimum width: 5mm.
- Maximum width: 30mm.
- Minimum depth: 5mm.
- Recommended proportion: joint width = 2 x joint depth.
Usage Notes
- Uncured sealant can be removed with Würth Bond and Seal Remover; cured material must be removed mechanically.
- Always carry out a compatibility test before overpainting, particularly with sensitive varnishes.
- Do not use in permanent underwater applications.
- Not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE, silicone rubber, polystyrene, or softened plastics.
- Avoid contact with alkyd resin paint systems, as this may cause cracking or yellowing.
- Excessive overcoating may lead to stress cracking.
- Store between 5°C and 25°C in a cool, dry place.
