Description
Advanced TITAND Technology
Würth Metalyt Corrosion Protection Agent is a professional-grade micro-coating specifically developed for the repair of zinc phosphate coats on vehicle body panels and components. Its TITANID formula provides a cost-effective and efficient alternative to expensive electrolyte galvanising processes, restoring corrosion protection in a way that remains true to the original factory coating.
Reliable Corrosion Protection
With excellent adhesion properties, Metalyt bonds effectively to steel, aluminium, and tin surfaces, even on thin edges where conventional coatings struggle. Despite its low layer thickness, the product delivers high repair assurance with outstanding long-term protection against corrosion.
Paint and Sealant Compatibility
Once cured, the coating can be smoothed, filled, and painted over with all standard 1-component and 2-component finishing systems. It also demonstrates excellent compatibility with PU and MS polymer sealants, making it an ideal preparatory layer in bodywork and paintshop operations.
Fast Drying and Durable
The product dries rapidly, reaching dust-dry condition within 5–8 minutes and full handling strength after approximately 1 hour. It can be recoated, filled, or varnished after 2 hours at 60°C or 24 hours at room temperature, with complete mechanical resilience achieved within 2–3 days.
Welding Compatibiliy
Unlike many coatings, Würth Metalyt allows for spot welding, inert gas welding, and gas fusion welding, both wet and dry. Caution is advised when spot welding, as spark discharge is possible — adjacent areas should be covered. It is not suitable for use with automated spot welding equipment.
Trade Professional Performance
Designed with professionals in mind, Metalyt offers a sprayable micro-coating that is easy to apply and provides strong protective performance with just a single spray action. This makes it highly efficient for workshop use where speed and reliability are essential.
