Professional Sealant for Precision Threaded Connections
Würth Low-Strength Pipe and Thread Sealant PTFE is a methacrylic-based anaerobic compound formulated for low-strength sealing of metal threads in pipework and fittings up to R3" (M80). It provides an immediate, pressure-tight seal and prevents loosening caused by vibration or thermal cycling.
PTFE-Enhanced for Smooth Assembly
The inclusion of PTFE improves lubrication and ensures a controlled tightening torque, reducing the risk of thread damage during installation. This enables consistent sealing performance and easy disassembly for maintenance or repositioning.
Instant and Reliable Sealing Performance
When applied to the thread, the sealant begins to cure in the absence of oxygen and in contact with metal ions. Joints can be loaded to approx. 5 bar immediately, allowing quick testing or system operation. After complete curing, the seal withstands pressures up to the pipe's burst limit, ensuring permanent sealing reliability even under demanding service conditions.
Low Strength - Easy Maintenance
Designed for applications where regular dismantling is required, this sealant offers low mechanical strength with a breakaway torque of 4-10 Nm. It allows easy removal using standard hand tools, without damaging threads or fittings.
Resistant to a Wide Range of Fluids and Conditions
The product demonstrates excellent chemical resistance to hydraulic fluids, oils, gases, fuels, coolants, and solvents. It performs consistently across temperatures ranging from -55°C to 150°C, making it ideal for water, air, fuel, and lubrication systems in industrial, marine, and vehicle applications.
Certified for Drinking and Service Water Applications
- DVGW approval: NG-5146BM0338, tested per DIN EN 751-1.
- NSF/ANSI 61 certification for use in service and drinking water systems up to +82 °C.
Note: Not permitted in domestic gas installations in Germany.
Intelligent Dispensing System
Packaged in a handy accordion-style bottle, the product enables precise, one-handed application. The turn-lock nozzle and adjustable flow control allow users to fine-tune bead size, reducing waste and ensuring consistent results. The packaging is also designed for complete emptying, optimising product usage and economy.
Material Compatibility and Precautions
As with other anaerobic sealants, contact with copper and copper alloys can accelerate curing, potentially causing micro-craks in warm water applications (>=40°C). Conduct preliminary testing when used on these materials. Avoid prolonged contact with sensitive plastics such as ABS, PMMA, polycarbonate, and polystyrene, which may degrade upon exposure.
