Description
Heavy-Duty Wax for Major Surface Repairs
The Würth Hard Wax is engineered to restore large-scale and heavily stressed defects on wooden and coated surfaces. Unlike soft filler waxes, it is specifically designed for areas subjected to major mechanical loads, offering a robust and abrasion-resistant finish. It is ideal for applications where both strength and durability are essential, such as staircases, flooring, and furniture edges.
Durable and High-Performance Formula
Formulated on a hard wax chemical basis, this product delivers excellent adhesion to both softwood and hardwood, as well as certain plastic substrates. With a softening point of 76 °C (ISO 2207) and a dripping point of 81 °C (DIN 51801), it remains stable under normal indoor conditions while providing long-lasting durability. Its minimum flashing point of 100 °C ensures safe and reliable performance during application.
Precise Application and Seamless Blending
The wax is applied directly into the defect using a heated gas melter, allowing the filler to flow smoothly into cracks, joints, and holes. Once cooled, the surface can be planed flush using the Würth Plastic Plane (art. no. 0890 305 30). To achieve a natural-looking repair, the wood grain can be replicated with touching-up materials, followed by sealing with a clear lacquer spray (art. no. 0893 188 2 / 0893 188 3).
Cost-Effective Repair Alternative
Instead of replacing entire furniture panels, stair treads, or floor sections, Würth Hard Wax provides an affordable, practical, and effective repair method. It restores strength and appearance, extending the life of surfaces without the expense of full replacement or refinishing.
More Information
Application Instructions
- Prepare the damaged area according to the technical data sheet recommendations.
- Heat the tip of the gas melter (art. no. 0890 305 3).
- Apply the hard wax into the defect using the heated tip.
- Allow the wax to cool fully.
- Remove excess wax with the plastic plane until flush with the surface.
- Trace the wood grain and restore pore structure with suitable touching-up materials.
- Seal the repair with clear lacquer spray at a spraying distance of 30-40cm.
Usage Notes
- Natural wood colour varies by species, origin, and surface treatment; mixing shades may be required for best results.
- Intended for indoor use on surfaces exposed to heavy stress.
