Description

High-Temperature Furnace and Boiler Sealant for Industrial and Domestic Systems

Würth Furnace Putty 1000 is a solvent-free, mineral-based sealing compound designed for extreme temperature environments up to 1,000°C. It provides high mechanical strength, excellent adhesion to metal and mineral surfaces, and long-term resistance to heat, flue gases, and condensates, making it ideal for heating, furnace, and exhaust system applications.

Exceptional Heat Resistance and Stability

Formulated with water glass (sodium silicate) and mineral fillers, the putty forms a dense, rigid seal capable of withstanding continuous exposure to high heat and combustion gases. It is particularly suitable for sealing boilers, furnaces, stoves, chimneys, burner housings, smoke ducts, and other high-temperature assemblies where flexible silicones would fail.

Strong, Non-Elastic Seal

Once fully cured, the compound hardens into a solid, non-elastic joint with high compressive and temperature resistance. It is not intended for movement joints but provides a permanent, gap-filling seal in static, load-bearing assemblies.

Easy to Apply and Ready to Use

Unlike traditional paste-type furnace putties, Würth Furnace Putty 1000 comes in a ready-to-use cartridge format, allowing clean and controlled dispensing with a standard caulking gun. The product requires no stirring and maintains uniform consistency without sedimentation.

Chemical and Environmental Resistance

The cured compound resists exposure to fats, oils, flue gases, condensates, and most household cleaning agents, ensuring long-term performance in heating and exhaust systems. It is also frost-resistant during storage and paintable once cured for aesthetic or protective finishing.

Environmentally Compatible

Würth Furnace Putty 1000 is solvent-free and silicone-free, reducing emissions and environmental impact while offering a safe, odour-neutral curing process suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

More Information

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure all contact surfaces are clean, dry, grease-free , and unpolished to achieve optimal adhesion.
  2. Cut the cartridge nozzle to the desired bead width and apply the putty directly into the joint using a standard cartridge gun.
  3. Smooth the applied material as necessary before skin formation.
  4. Allow the sealant to cure at room temperature for approximately 2 days, depending on bead thickness and ambient conditions.
  5. Once fully cured, the joint can be painted or coated if required.

Usage Notes

  • Processing temperature: 5°C to 30°C.
  • Temperature resistance: -5°C to 1,000°C.
  • Curing rate: approx. 1 mm per day, full cure in ~ 48 hours for standard applications.
  • When cured, the seal becomes rigid and non-elastic.
  • Store in the original sealed cartridge at temperatures below 30°C.
  • Shelf life: 12 months from production.
