Description

High-Performance Two-Component Adhesive

Würth ESK-50 is a fast-acting, solvent-free epoxy resin adhesive engineered for professional applications requiring high strength, rapid curing, and long-term durability. Its two-component formulation ensures quick reaction and reliable results, making it ideal for both industrial and repair uses.

Fast Curing with Strong Adhesion

The adhesive cures rapidly once the two components are mixed, offering a short open time (approx. 3 minutes) and handling strength within minutes. This allows for efficient application where speed is essential, without compromising long-term bond integrity.

Broad Application Range

Würth ESK-50 is suitable for bonding an extensive variety of substrates including steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, copper, brass, coated or galvanised metals, glass, ceramics, ABS, hard PVC, SMC, fibre-reinforced plastics, polyurethane, concrete, and wood. Its transparent curing makes it especially suitable for precision or visually sophisticated adhesive joints, such as glass bonding, stainless steel panel assembly, or cosmetic repairs.

High Strength and Durability

Once cured, the adhesive achieves a combined tension and shear resistance of 20 N/mm^2 (at 23°C), with excellent resistance to shock, impact, and flaking. Its strength is maintained even under heat, making it suitable for demanding environments.

Resistance to Chemicals and Ageing

The cured epoxy exhibits outstanding chemical resistance, withstanding water, petrol, oil, and various industrial media. It is also resistant to ageing, ensuring long-term reliability of bonded joints.

Finishing and Processing

Once fully hardened, the adhesive can be sanded and finished for smooth, professional results. Its high transparency means joints remain visually discreet.

Limitations

  • The adhesive may discolour under prolonged UV exposure.
  • Processing requires strict attention to open times and curing conditions for optimal strength.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or contaminants. Sanding smooth surfaces will improve adhesion.
  2. Insert the double cartridge into a suitable dispensing gun and attach a mixing nozzle.
  3. Apply the adhesive to one surface, ensuring both components are thoroughly mixed during application.
  4. Join the materials within the open time (approx. 3 minutes at 23°C). Position carefully, as adjustments after this time are not possible.
  5. Apply uniform pressure until initial curing is achieved.
  6. The adhesive will reach handling strength within minutes, with final strength achieved after 48 hours at room temperature.

Usage Notes

  • Processing Temperature: approx 30°C recommended.
