Description

High-Performance Engine and Industrial Sealant

Würth Engine Sealant is a high-strength, epoxy resin-based compound engineered to replace traditional solid gaskets and provide long-term sealing of joints, flanges, and pressure systems in automotive, mechanical, and electrical applications. Its advanced formulation ensures a reliable, pressure- and temperature-resistant seal, even under the most demanding conditions.

Exceptional Heat and Pressure Resistance

Designed for high-stress environments, this sealant remains stable and effective at continuous temperatures up to 280°C abnd pressures up to approximately 690 bar. It is suitable for use on engines, transmissions, compressors, and hydraulic systems, providing a reliable barrier against fluids, gases, and pressure fluctuations.

Superior Adhesion and Elasticity

The epoxy resin formulation adheres strongly to metal, glass, and ceramic surfaces, providing a permanent, vibration-resistant bond threat withstands extreme operating conditions. Despite its strength, the cured material remains permanently elastic, ensuring long-term sealing integrity without cracking or detachment under stress.

Adaptable for Uneven Surfaces

Its flexible nature allows the sealant to fill irregularities and surface imperfections, ensuring a complete, continuous seal across grooved or uneven surfaces. This adaptability makes it particularly effective for sealing machined or worn components where conventional gaskets may fail.

Corrosion Protection and Clean Sealing

Würth Engine Sealant completely fills gaps to prevent moisture ingress and corrosion on joint faces and threads. It provides an airtight and watertight seal that maintains joint integrity under both static and dynamic loads.

Silicone- and Solvent-Free Formulation

Unlike silicone-based products, this sealant does not release volatile residues or contaminate system fluids, ensuring compatibility with sensitive engine and hydraulic systems. Any excess material remains inert and non-reactive, maintaining system cleanliness.

Efficient Application with DOS System

Packaged in Würth's DOS (Dispensing One System) applicator, the sealant can be dispensed with one hand, leaving the other free for positioning or assembly. The turn-lock nozzle allows precise adjustment of flow rate for clean and economical use, and the innovative emptying design ensures minimal product waste.

More Information

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure the application surface is clean, dry, and free from grease or old sealing residues.
  2. For pre-heated surfaces, the parts can be joined immediately after application.
  3. When applying at room temperature, wait approximately 5-10 minutes before assembly.
  4. Apply a continuous, even bead to one surface, ensuring complete coverage of the sealing area.
  5. Assemble and tighten components as required.
  6. Allow the product to cure fully under ambient conditions before subjecting to pressure or heat.

Usage Notes

  • Not suitable as a cylinder head gasket.
  • Avoid long-term contact with plastics such as polyvinyl, ABS, SAN, polysulphone, PVC, polycarbonate, polystyrene, and painted surfaces, which may be affected.
  • Temperature resistance: -50°C to 280°C.
  • Working life / skin formation time: 5-7 minutes at 25°C.
  • Store at room temperature; shelf life 12 months from production date.
  • Follow standard safety precautions when handling epoxy-based products.
