5. Apply sealant — Using a caulking gun, apply Würth E5 Pro silicone acetate to the prepared joint, ensuring complete filling and good contact with both surfaces.
6. Smooth before skin forms — Before the surface forms a skin (typically within 20 minutes at 23°C and 50% relative humidity), smooth the sealant using a sealant smoothing agent (Art. no. 08933/0893 003) and a smoothing tool for professional appearance and optimal joint filling.
7. Allow skin formation — Allow the sealant to form a skin (typically 20 minutes at standard conditions).
8. Allow full curing — Full curing occurs at approximately 2mm per day at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. Cure time varies with joint depth and environmental conditions.
9. Avoid disturbance during curing — Do not subject the joint to stress or motion during the curing period. Allow full curing before exposing the joint to normal movement or stress.
10. Test paint compatibility — If painting over the sealant, test the specific paint on a sample application first to confirm compatibility.
