Description

Made to Order Colour Options

Würth Colour Silicone is a professional-grade sealant manufactured to customer specifications in over 180 RAL colours, giving architects, contractors, and homeowners full freedom in design. Whether matching facade joints, interior finishes, or sanitary installations, this tailored solution provides a clean, seamless result. Please note: as a special product, no returns or exchanges are possible. Minor colour variations may occur during production, but are not considered defects.

Durable and Versatile Performance

The oxime-based, neutral-curing silicone offers outstanding adhesion across a wide range of building substrates, making it suitable for expansion and connection joints both indoors and outdoors. With UV resistance, permanent elasticity, and weather resistance, the sealant is designed for long-term durability even in exposed applications.

Safe for Natural Stone Applications

The formulation contains no plasticisers, preventing edge discolouration and staining when used with sensitive materials such as marble and granite. This makes it especially well-suited for prestuigious installations where appearance is critical.

Certified Quality

Tested in accordance with DIN EN 15651 Part 1 and Part 3, Würth Colour Silicone meets strict requirements for fire behaviour, load stability, volume loss, and tensile behaviour in cold climates. It has been classified to building material class B2 (DIN 4102), normally inflammable, and features microbiological resistance with proven fungicidal properties for sanitary applications.

Application Scope

Ideal for interior and exterior connection joints, window and facade sealing, and natural stone installations. The product can also be applied in wet rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens, thanks to its mould-resistant properties.

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure that the joint surfaces are load-bearing, clean, dry, and free from grease, rust, and water.
  2. Do not apply during heavy rain or onto wet substrates.
  3. Dimension joints according to DIN standards, using PE back-fill material to control depth and avoid three-edge adhesion.
  4. Apply primer where required, particularly on absorbent or porous substrates, to improve adhesion.
  5. Cut the cartridge nozzle to the required bead size and insert the cartridge into a sealant gun.
  6. Apply the silicone evenly into the joint, ensuring full surface contact.
  7. Smooth the sealant immediately using a suitable smoothing agent and tool before skin formation begins. Remove any excess material next to the joint at once to avoid staining.
  8. Allow to cure under normal conditions (23°C, 50% RH).

Usage Notes:

  • Not suitable for underwater use or aquariums.
  • Do not use for bonding or filling cavities.
  • Cannot be painted or plastered over.
  • Avoid contact with PP, PE, PTFE, bitumen, and pre-compressed sealing tapes.
  • Colour matching should always be verified against existing materials prior to application.
  • Yellowing may occur in contact with white alkyd resin paints.
  • Ensure sufficient ventilation during curing.
  • Higher coating thicknesses extend curing time.
  • Discard the first ~2cm of sealant from each cartridge before attaching the nozzle to avoid colour inconsistencies.
  • Shelf life: 9 months from production if stored cool and frost-free.
