Description

Universal Structural Adhesive and Sealant

Würth Bond + Seal Structural Adhesive is a high-performance polyurethane-based adhesive with both bonding and sealing capabilities. Its combination of high adhesion strength and elastic properties make it suitable for demanding applications in construction, automotive, industrial, and food-processing environments.

Food-Safe Certified

ISEGA certification confirms that Bond + Seal is harmless to humans once cured and can safely be used in food storage and processing plants, such as for bonding and sealing wall and floor joints.

Elastic and Durable

The elastic formulation provides permanent flexibility, compensating for material expansion and contraction while maintaining a strong bond. It also dampens vibrations and noise, making it suitable for use in vehicle and machinery construction.

Extended Skin Formation

With a skin formation time of 45 - 60 minutes, the adhesive allows precise positioning of bonded parts and efficient coverage of large surface areas. This makes it highly effective for complex assemblies and wide joints.

Post-Processing Capability

Once cured, the adhesive can be mechanically sanded and painted over without additional activation. Compatibility testing is recommended, as PVC-based paints and oil/alkyd resin paints are not suitable.

Chemical and Environmental Resistance

Bond + Seal offers excellent resistance against fuels, mineral oils, animal fats, and vegetable oils, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications. It is also non-corrosive and prevents oxidation on metal substrates.

Notice

  • Not suitable for glass groove sealing or transparent substrates with UV back reflection.
  • Direct sunlight exposure may cause slight surface yellowing or cracks.
  • Not suitable for construction expansion joints.
  • Avoid contact with solvents during processing and curing - this may permanently damage the adhesive.
  • Risk of blistering if applied in thick beads, on moist surfaces, or over cavities.
  • Some paint systems (PVC-based, oxidising types) are not compatible for overcoating.

Application Instructions

  1. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and grease-free.
  2. Pre-treat surfaces as per the optimisation table (cleaning, abrasion, primer, or activator depending on material).
  3. Cut off the threaded spout, attach nozzle, and cut to required width.
  4. Apply adhesive using a suitable application gun. Minimum recommended layer thickness: 3 mm.
  5. Position parts within open time before skin forms.
  6. Allow to cure fully - curing rate approx. 3mm per day at 23°C and 50% RH.
  7. Once cured, adhesive can be sanded or painted as required.

Safety Notes:

  • Do not use below 5°C or above 35°C application temperature.
  • Store only in sealed and original containers at 10-25°C.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, frost, and solvent exposure during curing.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
