Description
Cold-Application Alternative to Lead Soldering
The Würth 2-Component Soft Solder Replacement is an epoxy resin-based filler system that replicates the results of traditional tin soldering but without the hazards of open flames or lead. It enables precise modelling, shaping, and touching up of repair sites, while maintaining high mechanical strength and excellent durability.
Safe and Time Efficient
Unlike hot soldering methods, this filler requires no disassembly of nearby heat-sensitive components such as airbags, textiles, plastic trims, or fuel tanks, significantly reducing labour time and potential risks. It can be applied directly without damaging adjacent painted, sealed, or cavity-treated surfaces.
Excellent Mechanical Properties
Once cured, the material delivers optimum flexural strength, high adhesion to common automotive metals (steel, aluminium, and iron), and long-term stability. It is resistant to fuels, diluted acids, and solvents, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding environments. The cured compound can be easily sanded with minimal dust, and its non-shrinking formula ensures consistent results.
Versatile Application in Bodywork Repair
Specifically developed for bodywork modelling and finishing, the 2C soft solder replacement can be used for contour correction, seam finishing, and restoring damaged areas where soldering would traditionally be used. Its cold application makes it suitable for both workshop and mobile repairs.
More Information
Application Instructions
- Thoroughly clean and sand the area to be repaired. Remove all uncured paint and primer layers.
- Prepare the cartridge by pressing until both components extrude evenly.
- Attach the static mixer and discard the first 3 cm bead to ensure proper mixing.
- Confirm the mixed material is a uniform grey, creamy, and shiny compound.
- Apply the filler to the damaged area and spread outward using a spatula.
- Allow curing. Ready to sand after 2.5 hours at 23°C. Accelerated curing: approx. 20 minuted at 45°C.
- Once hardened, the filler can be sanded, shaped, and overpainted as required.
Usage Notes
- Recommended processing temperature: 15-30°C.
- Suitable for use with any 310ml cartridge gun (mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic).
- Due to the material's high viscosity, a cordless or compressed air gun is recommended for best results.
- Shelf life: 18 months from production when stored at room temperature.
