The WL Toys Sky King has been purpose-built as an easy-to-fly beginner glider, making it an excellent first step into RC fixed-wing flight. Its 750mm wingspan provides strong inherent stability, allowing the aircraft to self-correct naturally and remain composed e with minimal control input. This makes the Sky King far more forgiving than smaller or faster models.

New Auto-Pilot Gyro Stabilisation System

This latest version features an integrated gyro-based flight stabilisation system that continuously monitors the aircraft’s attitude and automatically applies corrective inputs. Acting like an auto-pilot, the gyro helps keep the plane level during flight, significantly reducing the risk of stalls, spirals, and overcorrection.

For beginners, this results in smoother, more confidence-inspiring flight, while experienced pilots will appreciate the relaxed cruising and thermal-hunting capability.

Efficient Thermal Soaring Performance

Designed as a true thermal glider, the Sky King excels at exploiting rising air. Once launched and climbed to altitude under power, the aircraft can glide efficiently with the motor off. Thanks to its lightweight design and efficient wing profile, it can “sniff out” even gentle lift, allowing long, quiet soaring flights.

Applying small control inputs enables smooth circling and spiralling, letting the glider climb under thermal lift with little to no power required.

Rear Pusher Motor & Folding Propeller

The rear-mounted brushed N60 motor drives a folding propeller, which tucks neatly away when power is reduced. This significantly reduces aerodynamic drag during gliding and protects the propeller during landings and crashes. The pusher configuration also keeps the prop clear of grass and debris during take-off and landing.

Lightweight EP Foam Construction

Manufactured from impact-resistant EPO foam, the Sky King balances durability with very low weight. At just 100g net weight, the aircraft achieves excellent lift efficiency and gentle stall behaviour, which is ideal for learning controlled flight and landing techniques.

Reliable 2.4 GHz Radio System with Camera Support

The included 2.4 GHz transmitter offers stable control with a range of up to 200 metres, allowing multiple models to fly simultaneously without interference. The transmitter is also camera-ready, featuring a dedicated camera link button, making it easy to add an optional onboard camera for aerial footage or FPV experimentation.

Portable, Practical, & Ready to Fly

With compact dimensions and easy assembly, the Sky King fits easily into a car and is quick to prepare for flight. Supplied with a 7.4V 300mAh 25C Li-Po battery, it offers climb power when needed and flight times of up to 15 minutes per charge, with a recharge time of just 30-40 minutes.
