High-Performance 540 Brushed Motor

The WL Toys A959-B features a 540-size brushed motor, substantially larger and more powerful than those typically used in 1:18 scale RC vehicles. This high-output motor produces exceptional acceleration and sustained top=end performance, enabling the buggy to reach over 72 km/h in real-world testing - exceeding its official manufacturer rating.

The motor's power delivery is carefully matched to the two=cell Li-Po battery to ensure strong punch from low speed, making the A959-B highly responsive under rapid throttle inputs.

High-Discharge Li-Po Power System

The included 7.4V 1400mAh Li-Po battery supplies the high current necessary to support the motor’s output, providing a strong voltage curve during acceleration. Li-Po chemistry offers improved performance over NiMH alternatives due to its higher discharge capability, lower internal resistance and reduced weight.

Typical runtime is around 6 minutes per charge, varying with driving style and terrain, and the model supports optional fast chargers for reduced turnaround between sessions.

Upgraded Reinforced Drivetrain

The A959-B is engineered to handle the increased torque of its uprated power system. The drivetrain includes:

A full-time 4-wheel drive system provides excellent stability and traction, distributing power to each wheel through metal differential gears.

The front and rear differentials allow the inside and outside wheels to rotate at different speeds during cornering, improving steering precision and reducing tyre scrubbing at high speed. This ensures predictable handling even when pushing the model to its top speed.

Independent Suspension and Off-Road Capability

The buggy features independent suspension on all four wheels, providing improved contact with uneven surfaces and enhanced stability during rapid direction changes. The shock absorbers and suspension arms are designed for off-road versatility, allowing the A959-B to tackle grass, dirt, gravel, and compact surfaces while maintaining its high-speed characteristics.

Abrasion-resistant rubber tyres offer both grip and longevity, supporting confident cornering and improved braking performance.

2.4GHz Proportional Radio System

The included 2.4GHz transmitter provides:
