GTechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer

1. Assess your trim and product quantity — Determine how much trim requires treatment. Small vehicles like a Mini require approximately 30 mL, whilst larger vehicles like a Golf require approximately 15 mL. Ensure you have sufficient product before starting — you cannot reliably apply additional coats once the first has cured.
2. Clean the trim thoroughly — Clean all trim surfaces with a neat solution of GTechniq W5 Citrus All Purpose Cleaner. For heavily soiled or oxidised trim, use a medium-stiff brush to remove stubborn contaminants. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely.
3. Prepare the work environment — Work in a well-ventilated area, at temperatures above 5°C, away from direct sunlight. Wear the gloves provided with the product.
4. Ensure surfaces are completely dry — Trim must be completely dry and cool to the touch before application. Any moisture will interfere with the molecular bonding process. Allow at least several hours of drying time after cleaning.
5. Apply with the supplied applicator pad — Soak the GTechniq AP1 Lint-Free Applicator pad with several drops of C4. Spread the coating evenly across each piece of trim, working methodically across the entire surface.
6. Ensure thorough coverage — For textured trim, take time to ensure all crevices and depressions are covered with the protective coating. Incomplete coverage may result in patchy protection or appearance.
7. Wipe residue immediately — Once you've applied product to each section, immediately wipe away residue with a clean GTechniq MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth. This step is critical — excess product left to cure creates uneven appearance and reduces optical clarity.
8. Pay attention to textured surfaces — For heavily textured trim, spend extra time ensuring residue is removed from all crevices and depressions. A microfibre cloth can be gently worked into textured areas to ensure complete residue removal.
9. Allow 12 hours curing time — Once applied and buffed, allow the coating to cure for 12 hours before exposing the vehicle to rain, water spray, or other moisture. This curing period allows the molecular bonding to fully develop.
10. Avoid rubber and glass — Do not apply C4 to rubber seals or glass surfaces. C4 is formulated specifically for plastic trim only.
