⚙ Ideal For

  • Industrial equipment maintenance
  • Electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Dip bath cleaning
  • Heavy contamination removal
  • Wire rope and pumps

✔ Benefits

  • High flashpoint safety
  • Extended cleaning action
  • Batch cleaning capable
  • No corrosion risk
  • 95% active content

Standard low-flashpoint solvents create safety hazards in warm workshops and manufacturing environments, requiring constant fire precautions and limiting application methods. Rapid evaporation prevents adequate contact time with heavy deposits like grease, carbon, and corrosion, necessitating repeated applications.

CRC Lectra Clean II addresses both with a high 63°C flashpoint that eliminates application safety concerns and extended drying time that allows deep penetration and dissolution of heavy contaminations in a single application.

Key Features

  • High Flashpoint for Safer Application — Reduces fire risk in warm environments without restricting application methods or requiring extensive safety precautions.
  • Controlled Evaporation for Extended Cleaning Action — Stays on the part longer, allowing deeper dissolution of heavy deposits without repeated application.
  • Dip Bath and Ultrasonic Tank Compatibility — Formulated specifically for immersion cleaning systems with performance enhanced by gentle heating or mechanical agitation.
  • Non-Conductive and Non-Corrosive — Safe on all metal surfaces, ferrous and non-ferrous, without risk of corrosion or electrical damage.

Description

Heavy-Duty Degreasing Without Safety Compromises

Electro-mechanical equipment, pumps, generators, and industrial machinery accumulate heavy deposits of grease, oil, carbon, and corrosion over months or years of operation. Standard low-flashpoint solvents can clean these parts, but their fire hazards restrict use in warm environments and require extensive safety precautions. CRC Lectra Clean II's high 63°C flashpoint eliminates these concerns, allowing safe application even near hot equipment or in poorly ventilated industrial spaces. The solvent's controlled evaporation rate provides the deep cleaning power necessary for heavily contaminated components without requiring repeated applications that waste time and material.

Why Extended Drying Time Improves Cleaning Efficiency

While extended drying time is often seen as a drawback, CRC Lectra Clean II uses it as an advantage. The slow evaporation rate (150 vs. ether = 1) means the solvent stays active on the part for extended periods, allowing it to penetrate deep into crevices, threads, and complex geometries where heavy deposits hide. This extended contact time dissolves baked-on grease, carbon buildup, and corrosion more effectively than rapid-evaporating solvents, often eliminating the need for multiple applications. For heavily contaminated components, one thorough application with adequate dwell time is superior to multiple quick spray cycles.

Batch Cleaning in Dip Baths and Ultrasonic Systems

For shops performing routine maintenance on multiple similar parts, dip bath and ultrasonic cleaning systems dramatically improve efficiency. CRC Lectra Clean II is formulated specifically for immersion use, with performance enhanced by gentle heating to 40°C or mechanical agitation in ultrasonic tanks. This batch-cleaning capability allows technicians to clean dozens of parts simultaneously, significantly reducing labor time compared to spray application on individual components. The drying time of approximately 180 minutes at room temperature can be reduced to under 30 minutes using warm air blowers (maximum 50°C), making batch cleaning economical even on tight turnaround schedules.

Safe on All Metal Types Without Corrosion Risk

The non-conductive and non-corrosive formulation is safe on ferrous metals, non-ferrous alloys, and electro-mechanical assemblies without risk of post-cleaning corrosion or oxidation. After cleaning and drying, parts require no additional passivation or corrosion inhibition treatment — they're ready for reassembly or storage. The absence of residue means re-lubrication (if necessary) can proceed immediately without additional cleaning steps.

More Information

Application Instructions

  1. Prepare the work area and parts — Remove covers, plates, or protective elements that might trap solvent or prevent proper drainage. Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area and allow parts to cool to room temperature before cleaning.
  2. Select application method — For spray application, use the 360° spray valve for conventional or inverted positioning. For precision work, attach the extension tube. For batch cleaning, prepare a dip bath or ultrasonic tank filled with CRC Lectra Clean II.
  3. Apply liberally and allow contact time — Spray or immerse parts generously, allowing the solvent to penetrate contaminated areas. For spray application, allow the cleaner to run off naturally; do not wipe immediately. For dip baths, allow 15–30 minutes of immersion, optionally with gentle heating (up to 40°C) or ultrasonic agitation to accelerate cleaning.
  4. Use agitation for heavy deposits — In dip baths or ultrasonic systems, agitation significantly accelerates the dissolving action. Use low-flow air agitation or mechanical brushing to dislodge loosened deposits without creating excessive aerosol or splashing.
  5. Allow thorough drying — Parts typically require 180 minutes air drying at room temperature. Accelerate drying with warm air blowers (maximum 50°C using fresh air circulation) — parts typically dry in under 30 minutes with proper airflow. Ensure complete drying before equipment reactivation.
  6. Protect and re-lubricate if necessary — After cleaning and drying, inspect parts for proper condition. Re-lubricate moving components if the cleaning removed protective oils. Do not reactivate equipment while solvent vapors remain present.

FAQs

Why is the high flashpoint important for my workshop?

The 63°C flashpoint significantly reduces fire risk compared to standard low-flashpoint cleaners, eliminating safety restrictions in warm environments or near hot equipment.

Can I use CRC Lectra Clean II in a dip bath, and does heating help?

Yes, it's specifically formulated for dip bath and ultrasonic tank applications. Gentle heating to 40°C accelerates cleaning action significantly, reducing immersion time.

How long does it take parts to dry after cleaning?

Air drying at room temperature typically takes 180 minutes. Accelerate drying with warm air blowers (maximum 50°C) — parts typically dry in under 30 minutes with proper airflow.

Is this safe for all metal types and electronic components?

Yes, the non-conductive and non-corrosive formula is safe on all metal surfaces and electro-mechanical assemblies without risk of corrosion or electrical damage.
