Collinite No° 845 Insulator Wax

1. Wash the vehicle thoroughly — Use Collinite No. 83 Foamr pH-neutral Auto and Boat Wash Shampoo with a microfibre wash mitt to remove loose dirt and contaminants. Work systematically from top to bottom.
2. Decontaminate the paintwork — If the paint feels rough to the touch, use a Colli-Flex Super Decon Clay Towel to remove fine-grade contaminants. For heavy iron deposits or brake dust, apply a high-quality iron remover before claying.
3. Address paint correction if needed — For light scratches, swirls, or faded paint, apply Collinite No. 390 Pro Polish using a dual-action polisher and foam pad to level the paint surface and maximise gloss potential.
4. Liquefy the wax — Place the capped 845 bottle in a bucket of warm-to-hot water for 5–10 minutes. Shake vigorously until the product reaches a thin, milk-like consistency. This viscosity is essential for proper application.
5. Check paint temperature — The painted surface should be lukewarm (55°F to 80°F). Avoid applying in direct sunlight which accelerates evaporation and can cause streaking.
6. Apply using thin technique — Using a 3x5 microfibre applicator sponge, apply only a couple of small drops per panel. Less product is better — over-application is the #1 cause of streaking and haze.
7. Work in manageable sections — Apply to one 2x2 ft section at a time rather than coating the entire vehicle before buffing. This prevents the wax from becoming too hazy or difficult to remove.
8. Perform the swipe test — Allow the wax to haze on the surface. Swipe a dry finger across the hazed wax; if it comes away clean without an oily residue, the wax is ready to buff.
9. Buff the wax off — Use a 16x16 inch edgeless microfibre towel to remove the wax residue with firm, circular motions. Work until all haze is removed and a high gloss is visible.
10. Optional: Apply second layer — For maximum durability, allow 2–24 hours curing and apply a second layer using the same thin-application technique. Let cure fully (12–24 hours) before exposing to moisture.
11. Maintenance between washes — Extend wax durability by using maintenance toppers between washes: Collinite No. S-845 Insulation Speed Wax (gloss booster), No. 520 Quick Universal Detailer (dust removal), or No. 150 Slickr (ceramic detailer).
