Description

Exceptional Cut Efficiency

Traditional cutting compounds often require extended working time and multiple passes to remove significant defects. ClearCut's formulation prioritises cutting power, allowing detailers and body shop professionals to achieve substantial defect removal in minimal time. This efficiency reduces labour costs and accelerates turnaround without compromising finish quality.

Dust Control for Cleaner Workflows

Conventional compounds generate substantial dust clouds during machine polishing, creating cleanup challenges, reducing visibility, and potentially causing respiratory irritation in enclosed environments. ClearCut's formulation minimises dust generation dramatically, keeping work environments cleaner and improving visibility of the paint surface during correction work.

Filler-Free Philosophy for Paint Integrity

Some compounds use optical fillers or silicone additives that temporarily mask defects by sitting atop paint rather than genuinely removing them. ClearCut's filler-free approach means all cutting action genuinely removes defective material—the finish is authentic, not masked. Additionally, the absence of fillers prevents blockage of paint's natural absorption properties, essential for vehicles requiring subsequent coating applications.

Deep Scratch Removal Capability

Sanding marks from light wet-sanding, panel work, or aggressive paint correction typically range from P1000 to P2000 grit equivalent depth. ClearCut's cutting power can address these deep scratches, making it suitable as a primary correction step on vehicles with significant defects that would require two-step systems with other products.

One-Step on Medium to Hard Paintwork

Softer paintwork (typically European and some Japanese vehicles) requires gentler compound action to avoid over-cutting and haze. Medium to hard paintwork (typically Asian and some American vehicles) can tolerate more aggressive cutting. ClearCut's power makes it suitable for single-step correction on this harder paintwork category, eliminating the need for follow-up polish stages in many cases.

Body Shop Safety and Compatibility

Body shops apply ClearCut in masking and refinishing workflows where paint integrity and coating adhesion are critical. The filler-free, silicone-free formulation ensures no interference with subsequent primer, base coat, or clear coat application—essential for professional repair environments.

Application Instructions

For Dual-Action Machine Polisher:

  1. Prime a clean, dry pad with a very thin worked-in layer of compound and add 3–4 pea-sized drops of ClearCut. This priming ensures even product distribution without over-saturation.
  2. Spread product across a section. Distribute the compound evenly across 2–3 square feet of work area on low speed.
  3. Raise speed to MED/HIGH. Once product is spread, increase machine polisher speed to medium or high setting.
  4. Use minimum pressure for the first 2–3 passes and increase with each pass. Start with light downward pressure and gradually increase as the compound breaks in and cutting action develops.
  5. When scratches disappear or the polish becomes clear, wipe clean with a microfibre towel. Remove excess product to inspect the finished surface.
  6. Clean the pad. Wipe or rinse the polishing pad to remove residual compound before moving to the next section.
  7. Move to the next section and apply 2–4 pea-sized drops to the pad; repeat steps 2–7. Work methodically across the vehicle.

For Rotary Machine Polisher:

  1. Prime a clean, dry pad with a very thin worked-in layer of compound and add 3–4 pea-sized drops of ClearCut. Rotary application requires careful product control to prevent over-heating.
  2. Spread product across a section. Distribute evenly on low speed to prevent heat generation.
  3. Keep polisher on LOW speed with LOW pressure. Rotary polishers generate more heat than dual-action machines; lower speed prevents excessive heat buildup.
  4. Use minimum pressure for the first 1–2 passes, increasing pressure ever so slightly; work with maximum 1000–1200 RPM. Rotary cutting is more aggressive—conservative pressure and RPM control are essential to prevent marring.
  5. When scratches disappear or the polish becomes clear, wipe clean with a microfibre towel. Inspect the correction result.
  6. Clean the pad. Remove residual compound before moving to adjacent sections.
  7. Move to the next section and apply 2–4 pea-sized drops to the pad; repeat steps 2–7. Maintain consistent technique across all work areas.

FAQs

Can I use ClearCut on soft paintwork, or is it only for hard paint?

ClearCut's aggressive cutting power is optimised for medium to hard paintwork. On softer European and Japanese paintwork, lighter compound alternatives may be more appropriate to prevent over-cutting and haze.

Do I need to follow ClearCut with a polish, or can it stand alone as a one-step?

On medium to hard paintwork with moderate to heavy defects, ClearCut delivers sufficient cut and finish quality to stand alone. On softer paint or for maximum gloss enhancement, a follow-up polish may be desired.

Is ClearCut safe to use before applying ceramic coating?

Yes. The filler-free formulation ensures no interference with ceramic coating adhesion. Ensure thorough rinsing and panel preparation before coating application.

Why does ClearCut generate less dust than other compounds?

ClearCut's formulation prioritises efficient cutting action over traditional filler-based approaches. The reduced dust is a result of the formulation chemistry rather than additional dust-suppressing additives.
