Description

Non-Chlorinated Formulation

Ambersil NC 500 is a high-performance adhesive engineered specifically for environments where user safety and environmental considerations are paramount. By eliminating Methylene Chloride and other chlorinated solvents, this spray adhesive provides a safer alternative to traditional contact adhesives without sacrificing bonding strength. It is an essential choice for workshops, factories, and onsite installations where ventilation or health and safety protocols restrict the use of chlorinated chemicals.

Versatile Substrate Compatibility

This multipurpose adhesive is formulated to create permanent, high-strength bonds across a diverse range of industrial and commercial materials. It is particularly effective for fixing upholstery, carpets, and flooring, but its utility extends to technical materials such as rubber, plastics, foam, and various metals. It also excels in bonding lighter materials like paper, card, wood, cork, and hessian. This wide-reaching compatibility makes it a primary bonding solution for the foam converting, automative, and carpet fitting industries.

Controlled Application and Tack Time

The product features a variable spray pattern, allowing the operator to adjust the delivery to suit the specific dimensions of the workpiece, thereby reducing overspray and material waste. With an open joint time (tack time) of 2 to 4 minutes, the adhesive provides a sufficient window for accurate positioning before the bond sets. Initial bonding occurs within approximately 60 minutes, reaching its maximum adhesion strength within 12 to 24 hours.

Technical Composition

Based on a styrene butadiene rubber polymer, Ambersil NC 500 is delivered as a clear, amber liquid. The aerosol is pressurised to 3 bar at 25°C with a discharge rate of 1.1g/sec, ensuring a consistent and even coating during application. While robust on most materials, the formula may affect certain plastics; therefore, testing on an inconspicuous area is recommended to ensure material compatibility.

More Information

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure all surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as grease or dust.
  2. Shake the aerosol can thoroughly before use.
  3. Apply an even coating of the adhesive to both surfaces from a distance of 25cm to 30cm.
  4. Allow the adhesive to become tack-dry, which typically takes between 2 and 4 minutes depending on ambient conditions.
  5. Join the two surfaces together accurately and apply firm, even pressure to ensure a complete bond.
  6. To prevent nozzle blockages for future use, invert the can and spray for a few seconds until only propellant is expelled.
