Application Instructions
Use in well-ventilated area. Ensure adequate ventilation during application to manage solvent vapours.
Prepare the surface thoroughly. Clean the surface to remove dirt, grease, and contamination—cleanliness is essential for adhesion.
Ensure surface is dry. Remove all moisture; apply coating only to completely dry surfaces.
Remove rust and scale with wire brush. Use a wire brush to remove any rust, scale, or loose material from the steel surface.
Shake the can vigorously. MZ-90 contains zinc solids that settle during storage; shake vigorously until the agitator ball is free.
Continue shaking for one additional minute. Extended shaking ensures uniform zinc distribution and colour consistency.
Shake periodically during application. Continue shaking the can periodically throughout application to maintain zinc uniformity.
Apply in light, even coats. Use 2–3 light coats rather than one heavy coat for best results and optimal film quality.
Maintain consistent application distance. Hold the can 15–20 cm from the surface for uniform spray coverage.
Allow 15–20 minutes between coats. Additional coats can be applied after brief drying time; recoating extends protection.
Inspect for complete coverage. After each coat, verify complete coverage with no missed areas or thin spots.
Clean the aerosol valve after use. Turn the can upside down and spray until only propellant escapes, clearing the valve of zinc residue.
Allow 40-minute touch-dry before handling. After final coat application, allow touch-dry time before moving or handling coated components.

Can MZ-90 be applied over old, damaged paint or must surfaces be stripped to bare metal?
Strip surfaces to bare metal for optimal adhesion. Old paint can flake and prevent MZ-90 adhesion. However, if the existing paint is in good condition with no loose areas, MZ-90 can be applied over it for additional protection. For maximum corrosion protection, remove rust and scale to bare metal, then apply MZ-90. How many coats of MZ-90 do I need for long-term exterior protection, and what's the maximum protection?

Can MZ-90 be used on aluminium or other non-ferrous metals, or only on steel?
MZ-90 is formulated for steel and ferrous metals where cathodic protection is the primary benefit. On aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, zinc coating provides only barrier protection without the cathodic mechanism. Specialised aluminium primers are more appropriate for non-ferrous surfaces. However, MZ-90 can provide protective barrier coating on aluminium if ferrous metal primers aren't available—verify compatibility first by testing on an inconspicuous area.
