Action Can AC-90 Multipurpose Lubricant
Action Can AC-90 is a versatile multi-purpose lubricant engineered for maintenance professionals requiring a single-can solution to common mechanical challenges. Decades of real-world performance experience inform its formulation—displacing moisture, penetrating seized fasteners, lubricating moving parts, and protecting against corrosion in a non-conductive, silicone-free product.
Key Features
- Moisture Displacement and Damp Elimination — Active ingredients penetrate microscopic surface irregularities, rapidly displacing moisture and eliminating damp-induced ignition circuit faults.
- Seized Fastener Release — Rapidly penetrates corroded and over-tightened fasteners, releasing them for disassembly whilst leaving protective lubricating film.
- Moving Part Lubrication — Keeps hinges, levers, slideways, and mechanical components working smoothly, eliminating stick-slip and improving operational efficiency.
- Flash-Rust Prevention — Excellent corrosion protection repels atmospheric moisture and inhibits flash-rusting on metal parts and alloys during storage and operation.
- Heavy Grease and Grime Removal — Cleans metal, rubber, vinyl, plastics, and painted surfaces, removing heavy oils, light greases, wax-based coatings, and industrial grime.
Description
Multi-Purpose Formulation Philosophy
General-purpose products often compromise—choosing either penetration or lubrication, either cleaning or corrosion protection. AC-90's formulation balances these functions through chemistry refined across decades of field experience. Engineers carry a single can solving moisture, penetration, lubrication, and corrosion challenges without requiring separate products for each task.
Moisture Displacement for Electrical Reliability
Moisture on ignition circuits, electrical contacts, and damp equipment creates conductivity problems and equipment failure. AC-90's active ingredients penetrate into crevices and microscopic surface irregularities where moisture hides, physically displacing water and preventing the electrical conductivity interference that causes ignition and circuit faults.
Penetration Capability for Stubborn Fasteners
Seized fasteners represent a common maintenance challenge—excessive force risks breakage and component damage. AC-90 penetrates corrosion and oxidation chemically, reaching microscopic gaps where fasteners bond. This chemical penetration is more effective and safer than mechanical force alone, enabling release of severely corroded fasteners without damage.
Corrosion Protection Through Moisture Repulsion
Corrosion begins with moisture ingress followed by oxidation. AC-90's protective film repels atmospheric moisture, creating a barrier against water contact. Flash-rusting is prevented through this moisture-blocking action, extending protection through storage periods and harsh environmental exposure.
Non-Silicone, Non-Conductive Advantages
Silicone-based lubricants contaminate electrical contacts and create tracking hazards. AC-90's non-silicone formulation remains safe on electrical equipment and sensitive components. Non-conductivity adds electrical safety—the product can be used near de-energised circuits without conductivity risk.
Industrial Versatility Across Applications
Field professionals encounter diverse challenges: seized equipment bolts, corroded suspension fasteners, squeaking hinges, moisture on engine components. AC-90's multi-purpose formulation addresses all these applications, eliminating the need for product variety whilst maintaining consistent, proven performance.
More Information
Application Instructions
De-energise electrical equipment before use. Safety requires power disconnection before applying lubricant to electrical or ignition systems.
Ensure good ventilation. Work outdoors or in well-ventilated areas; traditional engineering oil produces vapours requiring air circulation.
Wear appropriate PPE. Use gloves and eye protection during application to prevent skin contact and accidental splash.
Shake the can well for a few seconds. Mix the product thoroughly to ensure uniform consistency and formulation distribution.
Apply from approximately 25 cm distance. Hold the aerosol upright and spray from 25 cm away, avoiding over-saturation.
Target specific areas requiring treatment. Direct spray to seized fasteners, squeaking hinges, electrical contacts, or other problem areas.
Allow penetration time for seized fasteners. Let the lubricant work for 5–10 minutes on deeply corroded fasteners before attempting mechanical release.
Apply gentle rotational force to fasteners. Once penetration time has passed, apply gentle turning force with appropriately sized wrenches—avoid excessive force that risks breakage.
Allow 10 minutes solvent dissipation before re-energising. Once application is complete, wait at least 10 minutes before reconnecting power to electrical or ignition equipment.
Wipe away excess with a clean cloth. Remove surface excess, leaving only the protective lubricating film.
Repeat application if necessary. For heavily seized fasteners or stubborn moisture, reapply and allow additional penetration time.

FAQs
Can I use AC-90 on electrical equipment and ignition circuits without electrical hazard risk?
Yes. AC-90 is specifically non-conductive, making it safe near de-energised electrical circuits and ignition components. Always de-energise equipment before application and allow minimum 10 minutes solvent dissipation before re-energising. The non-conductive formulation provides electrical safety alongside moisture displacement benefit.
How long should I allow AC-90 to penetrate before attempting to release a seized fastener?
For lightly corroded fasteners, 5 minutes penetration is often sufficient. For heavily seized or long-term corrosion, 10–15 minutes allows deeper penetration into rust and corrosion layers. After penetration time, apply gentle rotational force—if the fastener doesn't move with moderate pressure, allow additional penetration rather than forcing, which risks breakage.
Can I use AC-90 on painted surfaces or will it cause discolouration?
AC-90 is safe on most painted surfaces and won't cause damage or discolouration. However, test on an inconspicuous area first if concerned. The oil residue is light and can be wiped away. The product is formulated for versatility across diverse materials without surface damage concerns.
Does AC-90 leave residue that attracts dirt or creates buildup?
AC-90 leaves a thin anti-stick oily film that provides ongoing lubrication and protection. This residue does not become sticky or attract dirt accumulation. The formulation maintains clean, effective lubrication characteristics without the gumming or residue buildup associated with some oils over extended storage or exposure.
