Description

Baseboard and Floor Edge Vulnerability

Baseboards and floor edges accumulate layers of floor finish, dirt, and contamination that become difficult to remove through standard cleaning. Traditional stripping methods require extensive rinsing and neutralising to remove caustic residue—time-consuming processes that disrupt facilities and extend downtime. Trouble-Shooter addresses this by delivering stripping performance without lengthy post-treatment procedures.

Vertical Surface Challenge

Many floor strippers are formulated for horizontal application and run or drip when applied to walls or vertical baseboards. Trouble-Shooter's thick formulation adheres to vertical surfaces, maintaining contact with the finish layer during dwell time rather than running down to pool at the base.

Non-Ammoniated Chemistry for Safety

Ammoniated strippers create strong ammonia fumes that create inhalation hazards and require extended ventilation. Trouble-Shooter's non-ammoniated formulation delivers stripping performance without ammonia concerns, making it suitable for occupied facilities and patient rooms where air quality and comfort are important.

Minimal Dwell Time for Productivity

Aggressive formula penetration means finish loosens quickly—2–5 minute dwell time is sufficient for most applications. Extended dwell times reduce overall floor maintenance scheduling impact and allow faster completion of stripping work.

No Post-Application Procedures

Traditional strippers require rinsing to remove caustic residue and neutralising to restore floor pH. Trouble-Shooter eliminates these steps, reducing labour time and allowing faster floor recoating or sealing after stripping.

Versatility Across Multiple Floor Types

Vinyl, VCT (vinyl composition tile), terrazzo, marble, ceramic, and quarry tile all respond to the aggressive formula, allowing a single product to address diverse flooring materials in mixed-surface facilities.

Application Instructions

Prepare the floor area. Vacuum and sweep to remove loose debris, dirt, and dust before stripper application.

Shake the aerosol canister well. Mix the contents thoroughly by shaking for 10–15 seconds to ensure even dispersion.

Test on an inconspicuous area first. Apply a small amount to a hidden section to confirm compatibility with the specific floor finish and material type.

Hold the canister upright. Maintain proper orientation to ensure consistent spray pattern and product delivery.

Spray an even coating of stripper. Apply the stripper evenly across the baseboard or floor edge area, working from bottom to top to prevent dripping and streaking. Use steady, controlled spraying motions.

Allow dwell time 2–5 minutes. Let the stripper penetrate and loosen the finish layer. Longer dwell times may be required for heavily built-up areas, whilst shorter times suffice for lighter finishes.

Agitate the loosened finish if needed. For stubborn build-up, use a soft brush or scraper to gently agitate and loosen the finish without damaging underlying surfaces.

Wipe away loosened finish. Use a damp cloth or mop to wipe away the dissolved finish and stripper residue from the treated area.

Repeat if necessary. For heavily built-up finishes, repeat the application and removal process until all old finish is removed.

Allow the floor to dry completely. Let the stripped area dry fully before recoating with new finish or proceeding with other floor care procedures.

Do not rinse or neutralise. Unlike traditional strippers, no post-application rinsing or pH neutralising is required.

FAQs

Do I need to rinse or neutralise the floor after using Trouble-Shooter Baseboard Stripper?

No. Trouble-Shooter's non-ammoniated formulation eliminates the need for rinsing or neutralising, significantly reducing labour time and facility downtime compared to traditional strippers.

How long should I let the stripper dwell before wiping away the finish?

Standard dwell time is 2–5 minutes for typical finish build-up. Heavily built-up finishes may require extended dwell time (up to 10 minutes), whilst lightly finished areas may need only 2–3 minutes. Test on an inconspicuous area to determine optimal timing.

Will Trouble-Shooter damage the underlying floor surface if I leave it too long?

The aggressive formula is designed for finish stripping. Leaving the stripper on the surface longer than necessary is not recommended, as extended contact may affect the underlying floor material. Follow dwell time guidelines and test on inconspicuous areas first.

Can I use Trouble-Shooter on marble or terrazzo, or will it damage these delicate surfaces?

Trouble-Shooter is suitable for marble and terrazzo flooring. However, always test on a hidden area first to confirm compatibility with the specific surface, as some finishes or sealants may respond differently.
