3M™ General Purpose Body Filler is a smooth, midweight, general purpose body filler for a wide range of applications and temperatures. It’s easy to apply and spread, cures fast and is easy to sand.

For an easy application and spread, use the 3M™ General Purpose Body Filler. This light coloured, smooth general purpose body filler has excellent adhesion to steel, galvanised metal and aluminium. General Purpose Body Filler works well with all mainstream paint systems. It cures fast and is easy to sand, giving a smooth surface to work on.

Application Instructions

  • Mix 3M 51079 General Purpose Filler in the ration 98% filler, and 2% hardener.
  • Mix thoroughly until a uniform colour and consistency is achieved with zero streaking.
  • Take care not to use too much hardener, as this can cause excessive heat generation during cure, which can result in bleed through and bleaching when over-painting.
  • 51079 is sand-able after 20 minutes at 20°C

In-Store Pickup

In-Store pickup is available on all purchase. Pickups are available Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00–17:00. 

An email confirmation will be sent when your order is ready for collection. 

Free Shipping

We offer free Standard (2-3 Days) shipping on orders within the United Kingdom on orders over £100. Please note, some large items that require specialist courier companies, such as large mirrors and palleted items are excluded from this deal.

Most UK orders will be sent using Royal Mail, with larger items being sent with DPD.

International orders within the EU will normally be dispatched with Royal Mail, DPD, or UPS.

International orders to the rest of the world will normally be sent with DPD or UPS.
